DELTA COMPANY
(THE ESSEX AND KENT SCOTTISH REGIMENT)
invites the community to
HIT THE GROUND RUNNING

Windsor, Ontario July 22, 2011  
Delta Company (the civilian arm of the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment) and, The Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment Association welcomes the community to HIT THE GROUND RUNNING for the first annual family-centered TROT WITH THE TROOPS, 5km and 10km run, and 1km “dash” for kids.
This fundraising event supports the London Military Family Resource Center and The Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment Association. Trot with the Troops will be held on Sunday September 25, 2011 with on site registration taking place at 8:00 a.m. The run will start at 9:00 a.m. the Maj. F.A. Tilston VC Armoury, 4007 Sandwich Street, and proceed east along Sandwich Street to Riverside Drive and through the waterfront park passing The Canadian Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial (1959-1975), looping back to the Crimean War Cannon (1855), then to the Sandwich Town Great War Memorial (1914-1918) ending back at the Tilston Armoury.
The Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment will also conduct their annual 13km Battle Fitness Test march, and participants will share the same route with the soldiers.  Delta Company will host a Corporate Challenge for a select number of individuals to provide an opportunity to test their physical endurance by marching with the members of the Regiment.  Upon completion of the race, participants and the public are welcome to tour the Armoury, view displays, enjoy post-event refreshments, and to meet members of The Essex and Kent Scottish and the Regimental family.
Delta Company is a civilian organization comprised of members from the community.
